Mumbai FC lads record second win on the trot

Mumbai FC Under-19 showed lot of enterprise and excellent teamwork to eke out a solitary 1-0 win against Central Bank of India in a ‘Super Six’ play-off encounter of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Super Division League 2012-13, at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Wednesday evening. Ashley Dias netted the match-winning goal for the Mumbai FC youngsters in the second half.

This was the second successive win for the Mumbai FC lads, who had blanked Dena Bank 2-0 in their opening fixture and they now top the six-team standings with six points. For Central Bank this was their second straight defeat after their 1-3 loss to G.M. East Indians earlier this week.

There was not to separate the two teams as they were evenly balanced in every department. The exchanges throughout the encounter were even and quite a numbers of chances were created by both sides.

However, it was the younger outfit who managed to strike the lone crucial goal through Ashley Dias and clinch the issue in their favour to garner the full three points.
