Mumbai FC cruise to a comfortable win against Chirag United Kerala

Mumbai FC sailed to a comfortable 3-0 win against Chirag United Kerala to go on top of the Group C standings. Mumbai FC came with a confident win in their opening game against HAL while Chirag was desperate for their first point in the I-League U20 after losing their opener against Air India.

Mumbai FC made a confident start with slick passing which coach Naushad Moosa was clearly looked to be proud of. A clash between the Chirag Goal-keeper Sandeep KS and Mumbai FC no. 16 Jayesh Rane early into the game reflected the away teams physical aggression. However Mumbai FC continued to dominate play and did not let Chirag into the game at all. Chirag continued their physical aggression forcing referee J Velayutm to stop play quite a few times.

Mumbai FC forward Jayesh Rane was in fine form with an exhibition of his best skills. Chirag Kerala player Rahul Raj got a yellow card in the 27th minute for his rash challenge. Jayesh Rane opened the scoring for the home team in 29th minute tapping in a cross from the left flank.  The goal was followed some end to end action with both sides putting up a good display. In the 43rd minute Mumbai FC midfielder Chetan Tandel scored a simple taking after some some flowing football in the midfield. The first half finished with the score reading 2-0.

The second half was more open with more attacks from Chirag Kerala. The physical tempo of the game was increasing with tackles flying left, right and centre. Chirag Kerala player Vishnu Chandran (64’), Mumbai FC players Altamash Sayed (85’) and Sagar Khanvilkar (90+3’) got yellow cards for infringements. Chirag kerala player Vishnu Chandran was sent off for his second booking in the 85th minute. The icing on the cake for Mumbai FC came deep into extra time with Jayesh Rane completing his brace (90+4’). Mumbai FC are group leaders with 6 points from two games.
