Vernon Saldanha struck great form as he pumped home four goals including a hat-trick to power Spring Field SC to a comfortable 5-3 victory against United Boy’s Sahar in a First Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League 2012-13, at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Saturday evening. Shrinath Suvarna got the fifth goal for the victors. For the Sahar outfit, Nigel D’Souza netted a brace and Vikas Narkar got one.
Earlier in a Third Division encounter, Lokhandwala FC got the better of R.R. Sports by a slender 1-0 margin. Vipal Falar scored the lone winning goal.
There will be no matches at this venue on Sunday.
