Maharashtra’s Gaston D’Silva selected for India U14 Team

Maharashtra player Gaston D’Silva has been selected in the India U14 team for the AFC U14 Tournament which is being held in Mashhad Iran.

Gaston represented Maharashtra in the AIFF U12/U13 Football Tournament in Kalyani last year.   After a string of promising performances he was selected to be a part of the AIFF Academy in Goa.

Western India Football Association Secretary, Shri Souter Vaz was very pleased with his selection, “We are very proud that one of our boy’s has been selected for the India team. We hope that he continues to develop and one day represents the India Senior National Team.”

India has been clubbed with Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan in Group D.

They will play their first match against Iran tomorrow followed by a match against Kyrgyzstan the following day. India’s third match has been slated against Pakistan on April 28 while the last match is against Turkmenistan on April 29.
