Maharashtra thrash Madhya Pradesh to record impressive win

Maharashtra registered a comfortable 8-0 win over Madhya Pradesh in the fifth match of the West Zone Qualifiers of the 70th Senior National Football championship for the Santosh Trophy, at Tilak Maidan on Saturday. They led 2-0 at half time.

In the first half, Madhya Pradesh had the first go but Abhilah Kale’s promising move was foiled by defender Shakti Singh in the very third minute.

As the match progressed, Maharashtra took control of the proceedings and surged ahead in the sixth minute through a deft placement by Raynier Fernandes off an assist by Aaron D’Costa.
