The Sub Junior Girl’s Inter-District Championship kick-started in Cuttack. The Maharashtra Sub Junior Girls faced Pondicherry in their opening game and romped to a whopping 18-0 victory to book their place in the next round of the Championship.

Pondicherry has always been a tricky side but the girl’s from Maharashtra left no stones unturned and produced a mesmerizing attacking display. Playing under the guidance of Firmin D’Souza, Sai Sankhe and Gia ended up scoring five times for Maharashtra.

The coordination, chemistry and basics was inch-perfect for Team Maharashtra. One of the sole reasons they scored eighteen times. Apart from Sai and Gia, Sakshi also notched up a hat-trick. Meanwhile, Priyanka (2), Janhavi, Swara, and Cristine also got on the score sheet.

This was just the first step in a long-run and if Maharashtra showcase their same enthusiasm and dedication, they can go all the way.
