Mumbai, February 27: Dodsal FC Under-19 and Mumbai FC Under-19 scored contrasting victories in their respective

Super Division matches of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League 2012-13, at the Poinsur Gymkhana ground on Wednesday evening. The Dodsal colts cruised to a facile 6-1 win over Goregaon Sports Club, while the Mumbai FC youngsters encountered a strong challenge from Intelenet SC, before winning by a close 3-2 margin.
In the third match of the day, Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) outplayed Byculla United by a convincing 6-2 victory.
Results — at Poinsur Gymkhana ground – Super Div: Dodsal Under-19 6 (Ashutosh Bane, Sachin Medar, Girik Khosla, Parmod Pandey, Derrik Joseph, Naren Mallik) beat Goregaon SC 1 (Akshay Paralkar); Mumbai FC Under-19 3 (Cletus Paul, Vishal Kotak,Altamesh Sayyad) beat Intelenet SC 2 (Vinay Bandodkar, Snedon Pereira); Karnatak SA 6 (Arihi Uchenna 3, Merwyn Fernandes 2, Pankaj Koli) beat Byculla United 2 (M Mistry, Reon Mendes).

Cleophus nets hat-trick for I.C. Extension
Mumbai: Striker Cleophus Fernandes notched a hat-trick to power defending champs I.C. Extension, Borivali to an easy 6-0 win against Old Guns FC in a first round match of the Late Darryl Crasto Memorial Trophy for Men in the Catholic Gymkhana Floodlit Rink Football Tournament, at gymkhana ground, Marine Drive. Agnelo Picardo, Maxie D’Silva and Melville Pereira, all got the other goals.
In another match, Kalina Village Boys defeated hosts Catholic Gymkhana by a 3-1 margin and Faith, Versova overcame Weekenders FC 5-2 to advance to the second round.
In the women’s competition for the Late Dereyk DeSouza Trophy, Companeroes SC scored a hard-fought 1-0 win against a young spirited Magic Bus outfit, while Bandra Packers tamed Titanic FC 11-1.

Mumbai, February 27: Defending champions St. Andrew’s College retained their title in the Goan Sports Association (GSA) organised Inter-Collegiate football tournament.
In a summit contest between two colleges from Bandra, St. Andrew’s rallied strongly to put it across their arch-rivals, Rizvi 7-6 via the sudden death after the sores were tied 1-all at the end of regulation period, at the GSA gound, Cross Maidan on Wednesday.
The deadlock continued in the tie-breaker as both the teams could only convert four of their attempts from the penalty spot. However, in the ensuing sudden death Andrew proved more successful as they scored from their first two shots, while Rizvi saw their second try taken by Kazim Siddiqui saved by an alert Andrew’s substitute goalkeeper Siddharth Nayak.
Final results — at Goan Sports Association ground, Cross Maidan: St. Andrew’s College 7 (Kazim Siddiqui (OG), Scott D’Souza, Elton Quadros, Dion Menezes, Dexter Rodrigues, Hyginus D’Souza, Wayne Vaz) beat Rizvi College 6 (Ashish Pawasker 2, Viramallu, Marvin Stephen, Kevin Patrick, Shadaab Shaikh).
