2nd Division League 2016-17 Qualifiers

In the recently convened I-League Core Committee Meeting held on 24th August, 2015, it was decided by the Committee that in order to broad base the National League structure, participants from all the State Associations would be invited to compete in the 2nd Division League 2016-17 qualifiers this year.

The onus is on the State Associations to nominate two best placed teams from league, barring l-League and 2nd Division League 2015-16 teams, to play in the qualifiers this year.

To contest nomination the teams have to fulfil the following Criteria:

1. AFC ‘B’ License Head Coach

2. At least 18 player’s professional/ amateur contracts.

3. Legal entity Under Societies or Companies Act

Teams will play the zonal round in the first phase and top teams from each zone will qualify for the final round of the qualifiers. The top two teams at the end of the final round will be given a chance to participate in the 2nd Division League 2016/17 provided the clubs fulfil the licensing requirements for 2nd Division League.
